About

We fix what
everyone else
walks past.

Cltchworks makes footswitches that mount on top of the pedal they control. No extra board space, no compromise. Just the one small thing that was quietly driving you nuts, engineered out.

Built by hand
Where it began

A small idea,
taken seriously.

It started with a "What if..?"

A friend at Vincent's church adored the BOSS Angry Driver JB-2. He only wished it came with a second footswitch to toggle between the modes, instead of an external one he had no pedalboard space for.

Vincent, being the trained architect that he is, brought the pedal home and began designing the first prototype.

The solution was straightforward: an external switch that sits right on top of the host pedal it controls, and does its job without ever getting in the way of yours.

That switch became our BS-1 series.

Word spread. Soon everyone in his community either wanted one, or asked for a custom switch for the pedal they were playing. That's when Vincent partnered up with Jake so the two of them could help as many guitarists as they could. Cltchworks was born.

How we build

Made by hand.
Checked by hand.

We build in small runs, and we obsess over the parts you can't see. Mogami cable, because it survives the road. Squareplug ends, hand-soldered, because a switch that fails mid-set isn't a switch we'd put our name on.

Every unit is stepped on and checked before it's boxed. We'd rather make fewer and make them right than fill a shelf. And we test everything the only way that counts: at our own feet. If it wouldn't earn a spot on our board, it doesn't ship.

Why the small stuff

The little
things matter.

Big companies chase big features. We go the other way, hunting the small frictions everyone else has quietly learned to live with: the awkward reach, the cable that shouldn't be there, the inch of board you shouldn't have to surrender.

We solve the problem it's asking for, then we stop. No bloat, no noise. Because the difference between gear that fights you and gear that disappears under your foot is usually just one small thing, done properly.

The range

A switch for
every pedal.

Each one is built for a specific host pedal and dressed in the parts you'd pick yourself. Find the one made for your board.
